And I didn’t go to a top school, graduated below a 4.0, and never had previous Product Management experience.

  1. List all of your professional experiences from school projects to externships (even the ones you think aren’t that great)

  2. Pick 3 startup niches you like, list here

  3. Rank your experiences from most to least relevant that demonstrate passion, relevance, and competency. (relevance = connected to startup niche like healthcare)

    1. Top one is your differentiator

  4. Copy and paste this prompt into an AI tool with your list of experiences

    1. “I want you to write me an elevator pitch with these experiences using this template: “Hi, I’m <MY NAME>, a <ROLE> in <DESIRED STARTUP NICHE>. Previously, I did <OTHER DIFFERENTIATORS IN THIS LIST I SENT> I believe what makes me stand out is <TOP DIFFERENTIATOR>. <CALL TO ACTION> 

    2. Call to action depends on your different situation. But you can use this for virtually anything (career fair, coffee chat, interview, etc.)

  5. Feel like you do not have a differentiator? Then become on with an EEP (Expert Edge Project) and use as career leverage.
